This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please have your account number available, found on your billing statement.

Dakota Valley offers two ways to pay online. You will need to provide your account number, found on your billing statement (or give us a call to help you locate your account number).

Please note online payment is only available to make payments on a member's electric bill and is not for services offered by the cooperative subsidiary.

Pay Now: make a one-time, quick payment.
SmartHub: log into your account via SmartHub.

With the SmartHub app, members can make payments from a smart phone or mobile device. Secure access is provided to your account information including billing and electricity usage history, make payment via e-echeck or credit card, set up recurring payments, view outage information, and sign up for electronic bills all through the app!

Mail your payment to the following address or drop it off at our Edgeley office or Milnor office.

Edgeley Office
7296 Highway 281
Edgeley, ND 58433-9503

A drop box is available for use after hours. Payments placed in the drop box will be posted the next business day.

Instead of sending a check for your electric bill each month, AutoPay automatically transfers the funds from your account on or around the 20th of each month to pay your bill. Dakota Valley will continue to send you a monthly statement for your records, and your proof of payment will appear with your bank statement.

To sign up for AutoPay by ACH Banking, click here.
To sign up for AutoPay through a credit or debit card, go to the SmartHub app.

To sign up for SmartHub and access your account information including billing and electricity usage history, make payment via e-echeck or credit card, set up recurring payments, and sign up for electronic bills, click here.

Budget billing evens out the highs and lows of your electric bill, helping to avoid the effect of seasonal usage swings on a member’s electric bill. When enrolled in budget billing, computer software calculates your budget amount based on a moving average for each statement, avoiding large monthly payment variations, and rounds the dollar amount up to the next $5 increment. Dakota Valley reserves the right to refuse the Budget Billing plan to members based on payment history.

To enroll, call us toll free at 800-342-4671 or e-mail us at dvec@dakotavalley.com

Smart Hub gives you the ability to instantly view information about your current bill, bill payment history, electricity usage and monthly cost comparisons.

Why use Smart Hub?

  • For you to pay your bill on-line, Smart Hub eliminates the paper billing you receive and gives you the same information via the Internet--plus these added benefits:

  • You have instant access to your Dakota Valley Electric account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Any time you need a record of your bill, you simply print out the information you need.

  • Smart Hub gives you all the information you received with the paper billing PLUS your billing and payment history, your kilowatt-hour usage history and monthly cost comparisons.

  • You'll be notified by e-mail when your current bill amount is ready to view each month.

  • Smart Hub is provided through a secure server so your information is private and safe.

  • Smart Hub is fast, informative, simple, and secure.

About Us

Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative is one of 16 distribution cooperatives in North Dakota. It serves some 6,000 members on almost 4,700 miles of line in an area that stretches from the Minnesota border nearly to Ashley, and from the South Dakota border to Jamestown. From headquarter offices in Milnor and Edgeley, and outposts in Wahpeton, Oakes and Gackle, 43 employees work full-time to provide members with electricity and to improve the quality of rural life.
