As a member owner, you have the privilege of being involved in the cooperative you own. You can become a director on the board, or you can become more informed on the issues so that you may more effectively communicate with the directors who represent you on the board of directors.
Attending your district and annual meetings is a good way to become familiar with your cooperative. Each spring, each of the nine districts of Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative holds district meetings in which directors and staff give members the opportunity to hear industry issues that are impacting your cooperative.
Three directors are elected from the membership each spring at the annual meeting. Reports of the progress and future plans of Dakota Valley Electric from the board president, secretary-treasurer and CEO, plus wholesome entertainment, a complimentary supper, and prize drawings are included in the annual meeting events.
