What is Energy Share?
Energy Share is an emergency grant program provided by Community Action Agencies in North Dakota. This program assists low-income households with their utility bills. Assistance is only provided when all other resources have been exhausted. Funding for the Energy Share program is provided by private donations, utility companies across North Dakota and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Since this is a grant program, the assistance does not have to be paid back, but clients may be required to provide a co-payment. Energy Share is not an on-going benefit, and clients will be encouraged to work out a payment plan with their utility company.
